Hogback Gravestones performance ved kunstnerduoen Lara Eggleton & David Steans

Den britiske kunstnerduo Medieval helpdesk (Lara Eggleton og David Steans) vækker historien til live igen, når de for første gang, opfører deres spoken word og kostume-kunstperformance på Viborg Kunsthal.

I udstillingen er de repræsenteret med trykte bannere med billeder og informationer om de usædvanlige vikingegravmarkøre fra 1000-tallet, der findes i de tidligere dansk regerede dele af England og Skotland. Disse gravmarkøre bliver på engelsk kaldet `hogbacks´. Disse historiske fund og meget andet, bliver bearbejdet og behandlet, når de indtager kunsthallen med deres spændende og formidlende performance.

 
 
Biografi af kunstnerduo (in English):
 
Lara Eggleton is an art writer and historian based in Leeds. She likes to think about art across time and cultural spaces through writing and collaborative projects such as Medieval helpdesk. Lara is Managing Editor at Corridor8 and contributing writer for Art Monthly, The Double Negative, a-n, Doggerland, Axisweb and this is tomorrow. She is a visiting lecturer in Islamic Art and Orientalism at the University of Manchester and a tutor at Open College of the Arts, and sometimes blogs at follymatters.wordpress.com.
 
David Steans (b. 1984, Stockport, UK) is an artist currently based in Leeds. Recent solo presentations include Deptford X 2018 Platform Commission, London, UK; Gruesome FX, Triangle Arts Association, Brooklyn, USA; Crime World, The Tetley, Leeds, UK. He works part-time as a lecturer on the Fine Art BA (Hons) course at Leeds Arts University.
